Find out all you can be!

As humans we experience a range of dichotomies. There is an opposite to absolutely everything. However, sometime we so hard fight to stay one side of of something, for example, rich vs. poor, that we miss out on the full experience life has to offer. It is like the saying "you can't experience true joy until you have experienced true pain". This is true for everything. How can you know what you like, want, or are without experiencing, or at least knowing about the opposite of it?

I notice people really struggle with this concept when they have assigned one side of the spectrum to be "bad" and the other side to be "good. It is something we have been taught to do since we were children. "Be a good little girl." we may have been told. But even as kids we knew to test our limits. The limits our parents, ourselves and our world. We naturally knew the value of this activity. However as we grew, we began labeling our life and picking and choosing based on our experiences. Even more as we seek to make lives for ourselves better and perhaps reach new levels of spirituality and growth, we resist that which may seem "low" or "dark". There is a reason we do this and it serves us well at times.

However, the point of this human experience is to have the range of everything, or what I would call the spectrum. The range of emotions, the range of your power, the range of your sexuality, the range of you. We sometimes get so opinionated about one side or another of our life or world, that we forget to test our bounderies.

Opening up yourself to things that you resist regarding this spectrum can allow you to truly know yourself and the light inside you. You often hear about really amazing people, like Louise Hay, speaking about how they had dark moments in their life where they were sick or penniless. They speak about these moments as if it has made them who they are. It has!

We all should to experience the opposites in our lives to learn and grow into the lightness that we are. This spectrum helps us feel the power of our accomplishments and the strength of our convictions. We like to be challenged in our spectrum in order to trust ourselves and be open to how much strength we truly have.

Consider that there is a reason for everything you label "bad". Each of these things teaches you something about the "good" you have found within yourself, your life, your world. Embraces it for the lessons that is hold for you rather than run away from it and learn a little more about yourself.
